Hey Chris, some bad news the last few days. Jared's elbow has been hurting so went to the Ortho dr. and he's got a growth plate injury in his elbow. Going for MRI tomorrow but I'm not anticipating any tearing of the ligament. His pain wasn't while he was throwing...it was the next day he was really sore. I'll give you an update when there's more info. Jon
Definitely, weather down in Lexington with freezing rain and such this morning and afternoon, as well as weather in Northern Kentucky over the last few days has made it a little tough to get up to northern kentucky. However I will definitely be in over the next week or 2 once, possibly twice before the season starts to fine tune some mechanics and such before we go into the season.
You know I just can't help myself. I'm out of control joining groups! Nice site. Keep up the good work! I'm hoping to get a group from my son's team up there in a few weeks. See ya soon.
Hey Chris looks like you guys are doing well. Keep it up. Hey just wanted to let you know about Brad's summer. He had a great summer he pitched against some of the best teams in the country. The scouts have told him they want him to apply for the draft after next season. We also have to go to a Reds tryout on 7/30/08 at Dunbar High School. Brad is really excited. He keeps working hard and is now trying to lose a few pounds. Keep up the good work and hope to see ya soon.
Hi Chris, I tried to send you a message about this, but I don't think it went through...so I'm trying the comment box.
I have a question about balking. Saturday I was pitching in a game and there was a runner on 3rd and a runner on 1st.
I was pitching from the stretch. I lifted my leg and stepped to 3rd to fake a throw, then I spun around to 1st. The runner was heading to 2nd, so I threw him out. The umpire called a balk on me. He said I had to step off the rubber before going to 1st, but I thought a fake throw to 3rd is stepping off the rubber.
I saw it in a college game on tv where the pitcher faked to 3rd and 1st, but I don't know if his foot was off the rubber to begin with.
Can you tell me how to do that double move without balking?
thanks, I hope your team is winning alot!
Chris Brad is now 3-0 he pitched 5 innings the other day had 7k's no hits or no walks. Has really looked good on his last to outings the tune up sure made a difference.
He's still doing the throwing program...60 throws every 2-3 days. Threw from the mound for the first time Thursday (20 pitches) and again yesterday (20 pitches). No pain or soreness so I think he's in good shape. Their first games are next weekend but I don't think he'll be ready to pitch yet. Hope all is well in AZ.
Chris just wanted to tell you that Brad picked up his first college victory against Cumberlands. He started pitched 2 innings faced 7 batters no runs no hits 1k and 1 walk.

Jared had his last physical therapy session today. We are starting a throwing program now and they gave us exercises for him to keep doing for his shoulder. He definitely feels better now. I'll update you again after he works his way back into throwing. Hope all is going well there.

Ok, I know you've probably been there a few times for spring training but I'll give you a couple restaurant recommendations anyway. El Chorro Lodge on Lincoln in Paradise Valley is a good place for a group. Mostly mexican with a big outdoor patio. Probably need a reservation and it's nice casual clothes. Some guys will have jackets on but I haven't worn one there and was fine with nice slacks and a nice shirt. Good food and a really nice atmosphere. And though it's a chain, the Yardhouse is really good. I think it's over near the big mall in Scottsdale which I think is at Camelback and N. Scottsdale. I'm sure you know the area. Good atmosphere and similar dress code. Over 100 beers on tap. Good steak.
Thanks, Nathan starts baseball practice today I am sure what you and brandon taught him will go a long way.thanks for your help and good luck with your new gig
